HAZMIN® All Modules
The following topics relate to all HAZMIN® modules.
Browser Software
HAZMIN® is a 100% browser-based solution which has been engineered to run on
Corporate Intranets and the world-wide-web (www).
Multiple Facilities
HAZMIN® has been designed to support a corporation
with multiple facilities. All of the
information for all facilities may be stored in one database.
Based on how the customer wants the information to be accessed,
individual facilities may be limited to only seeing MSDSs and
reports for their own facility. Again, based upon the requirements
of the Corporation, separate reports can be generated for each
facility. Conversely, all information can be made available to
selected users. For most corporations, there are three significant advantages to the
design of the HAZMIN® environmental management system. First, the database administrator
only has to support one database. Secondly, there is no duplication
of information in the database. And lastly, individuals with
corporate responsibility can easily run reports including all
facilities.
Report Writing
HAZMIN® incorporates an easy to use report generator.
All of the data which is entered into HAZMIN®, can be easily
retrieved by an authorized user. To facilitate the users utilization
of data pulled from HAZMIN®, nearly all reports can exported directly to
a spreadsheet, where the user can plot, graph, or further format the data for printing.
Since the data is stored in a commercial database, many popular
report writers can also be used to create custom reports. While
this option is available, the extensive custom report writer
and environmental reporting capabilities within HAZMIN® minimize
most demands for additional custom reports.
User Security
HAZMIN® incorporates its own user security.
The user security enables an authorized HAZMIN® suer to assign
specific privileges to users. There are options to control: who may add or modify any information, who may
run the powerful custom reports, and even who may run environmental reports.
Images
For those customers who wish to include an image of the MSDSs
for Right-To-Know compliance, HAZMIN® is designed to utilize
Adobe *.PDF files. If an image of an MSDS is available, the image
will be displayed for Right-To-Know purposes, but if no image is available, the
databased MSDS's will be displayed in a standard
format. The user must have the
Adobe Reader installed to view the images.
Help
HAZMIN® comes with context sensitive help.
All of the major functions within the software are summarized
and explained. Also included within Help are definitions of terms found on
MSDSs.
Maintenance and Support
For implementations of the software, one year of Maintenance and Support is included with the Licensing of HAZMIN.
As part of Maintenance and Support, customers receive 24/7 phone support and HAZMIN software updates.
For online customers, Maintenance and Support are included with annual fees.
When a corporation decides to invest in compliance software,
they want to know that the software provider will stand behind
that software. We, at LOGICAL, understand that the acquisition
of software by the customer is not the "end" of the
selling cycle, but more importantly, needs to be recognized as
the beginning of an ongoing active relationship with the customer.
LOGICAL provides Maintenance and Support for four basic reasons. First, to fill
the gap between the customer's needs at the time the software was acquired and
the future needs of the customer by continuing to enhance the software. Second, to help
the customer protect their manpower investment in the software by offering ongoing training
and consulting in the use of the software. Third, to protect the customer's overall
investment in the software by fixing problems identified by customers. Fourth,
to support the customer's installation of the database, especially when the
database is located at the customer's site.
The services and products offered by LOGICAL are intended
to play a crucial role in the customer's environmental, health
and safety programs. Regardless of how "complete"
a software package is, environmental, health and safety requirements
change as new regulations are proposed and existing regulations are
modified. In addition to external requirements, the internal requirements
for a customer may change. In either case, customers
often see ways that the software can be modified to meet those new
requirements.
